KTLN would like to remind vehicle and scooter owners that tax is due to be paid in January.

You only have to pay half now, and the other half in July.  To calculate how much tax is due, you can use the link in our Buying and Running a Car article, in the KTLN Knowledge Bank.

You will find that vehicle tax has gone up by just over 10% this year.

Whilst on the subject of cars and scooters, we notice that in a league table of tax rates on fuel, Turkey and the UK are neck and neck, in that about 60% of the price of a litre of petrol is tax.  

A price comparison web site for the UK, shows that a litre of unleaded petrol in Kent, costs £1.34. The Kalkan equivalent at current exchange rates is £1.48.

And still on motors and scooters, please note that we have added the dates that the mobile MOT (TUV) station will be in Kalkan, throughout 2012, to our What's On Calendar. 

The next date they are in town is 10th February.
