Over the years there must have been millions of photographs taken in Kalkan.

Many will be holiday snaps, capturing happy memories, and some will be more considered compositions, capturing the beauty that surrounds us.

Alican Akcol is one of Kalkan's most accomplished photographers, and he is offering to help others who are keen on getting the most out of their cameras.

He was one of the founder members of the Kalkan Photography Club, and he has recently established his own Facebook page, called Alican Akcol Photography.  He is also on Twitter (@AlicanAkcol). 

If you are keen to learn more about photography, and to develop your skills and knowledge, Alican is happy to field any questions you may have on the subject, via Facebook or Twitter. 

He will be developing his own photography web site this year too, where he plans to have a number of free tutorials on various aspects of photography.

A passion for photography
Last May, KTLN reported how Alican's work was exhibited in the Kalkan Culture House.

His talents have clearly not gone unnoticed, as he will soon be heading off to Istanbul, where he will be working for some well known fashion brands, as a photographer, and also a graphic designer.

For Alican, this move to Istanbul, where he was brought up as a child, turns his passion into a career.  He is naturally, excited about his new life in Istanbul, but Kalkan has a special place in his heart, and he will be coming back from time to time.  We wish him every success.

You may like to know that Alican will appear in the KTLN 'Day in the Life' feature, when it returns, at the start of the tourist season.
