Parc KalkanSaturday 6th June sees the official opening of Parc Kalkan, a 'bon marche' development on Şehitler Caddesi, just below Kartin supermarket.

There will be a launch party with complimentary cocktails and live music, between 5pm and 7pm.  Everyone is welcome.

Parc Kalkan manager, Cenk Toparlakli, talked to KTLN about the bon marche experience they aim to deliver.

The site is on three levels.  The top level is the cafe area where Mediterranean food will be on the menu - Italian, Spanish, Greek and of course Turkish.  The mid level is the bar area, serving a variety of drinks, including cocktails.

The lower tier is the market area.  Amongst other things, you can buy Tchibo coffee and Nivea cosmetics.  There will be a delicatessen where you will find home made pasta, cheeses and meats, including pork products like prosciutto ham.

Parc Kalkan also plans to have a creative area where local artists will work.  Every Wednesday there will be a Turkish themed evening.

Cenk Toparlakli told KTLN that they aim to offer something that doesn't currently exist in Kalkan.  Parc Kalkan has good commercial links with Istanbul and if there is a demand for something that fits in with the overall bon marche theme, they will use these links to bring it to Kalkan.

Bon marche is French for 'good market'.
