Rather belatedly, we have heard about the twelfth International Lycian-Kaş Culture & Art Festival, which opened on Friday 26th June and ends on Sunday 28th June.

There seems little point mentioning what you have missed, so please find below details of what is happening on Sunday 28th June.

For the fifth year, competitors from Kaş and the Greek island of Meis will hold swimming and canoeing races.  At 8.00am competitors will go to Meis island, and at 8.30am the swimming race will be held.  Shortly after, at 9.30am the canoeing race will be held.  Everyone will return to Kaş for the awards ceremony at 11.00am.

At 5pm, at the Kaş Culture Centre, writer Sezai Sarıoğlu will read from her book Nar Sesleri, and she will sign copies of her book.  There will also be traditional Turkish (Black Sea) music performed.

At 7pm, close to Kaş PTT, street music will be performed as well as an afternoon classical music concert.

At 8pm, at Kaş harbour there will be some closing speeches and awards, followed at 9pm by a photographic slide show from Uğur Yavaş, called 'Earth from the Sky'.

The final show of the day comes at 9.30pm or 10pm (we are not sure which, because the promotional literature says both times).  The Antalya State Opera and Ballet group will perform 'Türküyem' at Kaş harbour.

All of this culture and entertainment is provided free of charge.  All you have to do is turn up.
