In a press release dated 25th June 2009, the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Board (TC Enerji Piyasası Düzenleme Kurumu - EPDK) announced that they are capping the profit that fuel suppliers can make on petroleum products. This should work in the motorist's favour. There have been criticisms in the past of fuel suppliers not passing on savings when oil prices come down, which is why the government has acted.
