Kalkan car parkingThe Belediye has marked out new street parking spaces on Şehitler Caddesi, between Garanti Bank and the road where the Thursday market is held (Karayolları Sokak). 

The car parking spaces have been marked on the right side of the road, as you drive uphill out of Kalkan.

When we took the photo below some drivers had not got the hang of the markings and were parking across them, but if they are used correctly, these diagonal markings will enable more cars to park.

It is worth mentioning that near to Akbank and Nur Hotel, where the road narrows, the fact that parked cars are now projecting further into the road, means that there is less room for passing traffic.  We have seen some traffic congestion in this area.
