A day in the life is great to get to know our Kalkan neighbours and there is so much more. Mainly for me it's the Ten Seond Turkish - you've made it easy for us, so THANK YOU.

Theatre ShowArticle updated Thursday 9th July: The Yeşilköy People's Theatre (Yeşilköy Halk Tiyatrosu) is hosting a series of plays over the coming days.  Four local theatre groups will be performing (outdoors) at the First School in Yeşilköy.

We saw the Yeşilköy Halk Tiyatrosu perform in Çayköy a couple of months ago, and despite the play being in Turkish it was easy to follow the plot, so don't worry too much if you don't speak Turkish.

KTLN has now discovered the names of the plays to be performed.  Details are shown below.

Venue
Yeşilköy First School - that's the second school you come to on your left if you drive into Yeşilköy on the old road, via Akbel.  Performances are outdoors, in the school grounds.

Time
Update
: We are now informed that the shows start at around 9.00pm.  Aim to be there for 8.30pm to get a seat and soak up the atmosphere.

Cost
We don't know how much the tickets are, but going by the performance in Çayköy, it will only be a few lira.

Dates:

Thursday 9th July
Arslan Köy  Çadır Tiyatro - Uyuz Eşek (which we believe translates as 'Mangy Donkey')

Friday 10th July
Temel Köyü - Köy Seyerlik Gösterisi (Village Theatrical Show)

Saturday 11th July
Bademler Köyü Tiyatrosu - Teneke (Tin)

Sunday 12th July
Yeşilköy Halk Tiyatrosu - Komşu Köyün Delisi (The Crazy Neighbouring Village)

If you want to see some real Turkish culture and experience theatre under the stars, why not come along to one of the performances.  Having seen the Yeşilköy Halk Tiyatrosu perform in Çayköy, KTLN can recommend it.
