ShareTurkish flagSome of you may have noticed on the Kalkan Turkish Local News town webcam that the huge Turkish flag at the top of Mustafa Kocakaya Caddesi is back.  It is there in time for Victory Day, which is today, Sunday 30th August.

Victory Day is known as Zafer Bayram in Turkey, and it commemorates the final battle of the Turkish War of Independence in 1922, where the Turkish army, under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, defeated the Greek army.
