The more eagle-eyed amongst you may have noticed that quite recently we had over 1,500 people viewing Kalkan Turkish Local News at one time.  The current number online, and most online ever figures are displayed in the left hand column, near the log in area.

Unfortunately, we are not that popular.  This was in fact an indicator that the KTLN website was being subjected to a brute force attack by hackers.  Not nice.  (We have reset the highest ever number online figure to a true reading).

Our friends at Fethiye Times had similar problems, and their site was recently taken down for a while.  Thankfully, they are back - better than ever, with a new look site.

It's unfortunate that hackers derive pleasure from targeting sites in the way they do, but sadly they are a fact of life.  At KTLN we have taken steps to improve our security.  There is nothing that you would notice as a user of our website, but a few things have changed behind the scenes.

We can never be sure that we are 100% safe from attack, but we are doing what we can to keep the KTLN service up and running.  We know how important a daily Kalkan fix is for many of you!
