Fantastic. It ıs so comprehensıve for local and national news, full of interesting articles, and has great links: a sort of one-stop-sıte for an english-speaking resıdent. And the layout is terrific.

Kalkan water supply update September 2009 PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 08 September 2009
ShareKalkan WaterKalkan Turkish Local News has learned that the Belediye has now taken delivery of 3 new water pumps, which will be used to pump water from Saklikent to Kalkan town.

The brand new pumps will be able to pump at a rate of 30 litres per second, compared to just 17 litres per second with the old pumps.  The new equipment will improve reliability and also water pressure, once installed.

Given that the water supply is relatively stable at the moment, there are no plans to bring the new pumps in now, as this would necessitate a temporary stoppage during the main tourist season.  It is envisaged that the new pumps will be installed after the end of the season.
