Kalkan signThe Kalkan Belediye Board have recently been discussing the possibility of twinning Kalkan with a foreign town.

Interestingly, they have already been informally approached by a town in Italy, and they are giving this some consideration.

However, given that a significant number of visitors are from the UK, it is understandable that they would wish to explore the possibilities of a UK twin town.

Twinning is something that on the face of it sounds quite appealing, but what is it all about?  And what would be achieved?  And of course, the question of money always arises.  Who is going to pay for twinning activity?

Typically, twinning is done for commercial, cultural or educational reasons, or indeed a combination of any of these.

Kalkan Turkish Local News would like to know what you think, and we would invite you to tell us of any suitable places in the UK that may be a good match with Kalkan.  We will pass on any serious comments or suggestions to the Mayor.

You can get in touch by using the Contact Us tab at the top of this web page.
