The main reason [for joining] is that since I have been in Kalkan (14 years), I have for the first time good information about what is happening in Kalkan.

Kalkan walkers discover iron age artifact PDF Print E-mail

Lycian WayThe Kalkan walking group made an interesting discovery on their walk between Gökçoeren and Sarıbelen this week.

This is a superb part of the Lycian Way, with breathtaking views, but it is not especially known for having an abundance of old artifacts.

The walkers captured the relic in situ, as you can see in the following photo.

It seems that someone couldn't decide whether to stay in and do the ironing or go for a walk.  Hang on - why not do both at the same time?

One can only imagine how long the extension cable must have been!

KTLN member Adrian, has also pointed out that this could be an example of Extreme Ironing.

Whilst this photo did make us smile, there is a serious point to be made here.  Out of shot of this photo were several other items of rubbish, just dumped in the middle of the countryside.

People who are so selfish as to flytip in a place of such beauty should be ashamed of themselves.
