Share You have to take all scientific research with a pinch of salt (but only a small pinch, because according to research, too much salt is bad for you).
However, we have to say that the latest gem to come from 'the experts', does not come as a complete surprise.
According to a report on BBC News online, eating a Mediterranean diet may help to prevent depression.
Earlier research also finds that a Mediterranean diet:
- "cuts cancer"
- "helps prevent diabetes"
- "could prevent asthma"
- "cuts lung disease risk"
- "reduces dementia risk"

But this latest finding, that eating healthily in the Med makes you feel good, suggests some of these researchers are studying for a PhD in Stating the Obvious.
You can eat freshly produced fruit and veg, that actually tastes of something, whilst looking over Kalkan Bay, rather than microwaving some ready-made meal in a plastic container, and sitting in your lounge with a tray on your lap, watching Eastenders. And somehow that makes you feel better? Wow! - who would have guessed?
Below, we provide the KTLN Kalkan Guide to DIY research on links between depression and a Mediterranean diet.
1. Click on the KTLN Flight & Travel Information page. 2. Book a holiday to Kalkan. 3. When you arrive, sample the fayre on offer from a choice of almost 100 eateries - see our Business Directory. 4. Compare how depressed you were 3 days before you travelled, with how you feel 3 days after arriving in Kalkan. Share |
