KTLN is the first thing I Google when I open my computer in the morning. It is the best way to catch up with what is happening in Kalkan. How did I manage before it existed?

Kalkan First School laptopWe are pleased to report that KTLN has now delivered a laptop to Kalkan First School, as promised a few months ago.

In our photo, you can see headmaster Galip Karalan (seated), and the IT teacher Çetin, who will be making sure the Toshiba laptop is put to good use.

You may recall that The KTLN Trust also donated a PC projector to the school in September.

Apart from its use in the IT classroom, the laptop will be handy for other occasions, such as teacher conferences and when they need to set up a computer in the playground, for various ceremonies.

Kalkan First School laptop

This laptop computer was kindly donated by KTLN members Mike and Vanessa Gernat, and The KTLN Trust paid for the laptop to be reconfigured in Turkish, and supplied with relevant software packages.

The KTLN Trust had previously agreed to pay for a laptop, but when Mike and Vanessa contacted us to say they were happy to donate one, we decided to pay for it to be reconfigured.

This means that we did not spend as much money as we originally intended, so The KTLN Trust still has just over £1,000 to spend.  We would welcome any suggestions from KTLN members as to how this could be utilised.
