Home Security Seminar at Nur Hotel on Saturday 12th December PDF Print E-mail

Home SecurityKalkan has had its fair share of burglaries this year, and we know that this has become a matter of concern for some of you.  So Kalkan Turkish Local News would like to offer some direct and practical help.

In these matters, we have always maintained that a sense of perspective is required.  Crime happens in all towns and cities.

We researched online forums for a number of European destinations popular with the British, and guess what - they suffer from burglaries too - and much more besides.  For example, in one popular resort in mainland Europe we discovered that burglars draw coded messages in the street to tell fellow burglars what they can expect to find inside properties.  Scary stuff.

Home SecurityBut we acknowledge that if it happens to you it's a serious matter, so here is how KTLN would like to help.

We have spoken to many people who are well qualified to give advice, including the local Jandarma.   We have condensed this advice into a presentation on home security, which we would like to share with you.

So, on Saturday 12th December at 2pm, a Home Security Seminar will take place at the Nur Hotel in Kalkan, where this presentation will be given.

On hand to answer any questions you may have, will be three experts.

Firstly, we will have Paul Brown, a retired UK police officer, who now lives in Kalkan. Paul has many years experience in crime prevention and detection.

Home securityWe will also have an English speaking representative from Anadolu Sigorta, one of Turkey's leading insurance companies, who will explain how to make sure you are properly insured, and how to make a claim.

Also present will be Yavuz Yildiz of Flaş Elektronik, an alarm company based in Ortaca, Dalaman.  They have existing clients in Kalkan who operate monitored alarm systems.

This seminar is free to attend and everyone is welcome.  The Nur Hotel is very kindly providing a room free of charge, so we would encourage you to make use of their tea and coffee facilities, which are modestly priced.

We need to know numbers, so please tell us if you are going to come along, before 8pm on Saturday 6th December, by using the Contact Us tab at the top of this page.
