Local theatre groupCalling all actors, singers, dancers and entertainers.  Two people from Kaş would like to set up a Kaş/Kalkan amateur theatre group.

Kate Toop and Gerard Kennedy have many years experience in amateur theatre and would like to draw upon local talent to put on public performances in this area.

Putting on productions for the public demands a certain level of commitment and a desire to do a good job, but it's also about having fun.  Importantly, it's an opportunity for Turkish and non-Turkish people to come together and work in a creative environment.

And it's not just about performing.  There are other aspects of production that may appeal to those of you who don't want to be in the spotlight.

For example, set design and construction, costumes, make up, stage management, prompt, lighting and sound, front of house management or even direction.

Some of you may be writers - how about writing your own sketch or play?  There are so many ways in which you can get involved.

Kate plans to hold an initial meeting in the Eris Restaurant, Kaş, on Tuesday December 15th at 2pm. This would be an opportunity for people to meet and discuss initial ideas.

Providing they find sufficient interest, they would like to put on their first production in March/April 2010.  There would be performances in both Kaş and Kalkan.
