My thanks for a great website-I'm not just saying it when I say it is the best Kalkan one for me, by a long shot.

| Spectacular Geminid meteor shower |

ShareLast night, sky watchers saw one of the best meteor showers of the year - the Geminid meteors - so named because they are visible in the constellation Gemini (The Twins). Whilst last night was the peak of activity, you can still see them for a few more days. If you believe what you read, Herodotus, the 5th century Greek historian came to Kalkan. He is reported to have said that Kalkan was the nearest place on earth to the stars, so you couldn't be in a better place to watch! Share |
