Rain and hailBut the LPG fire is so delightful.  And since we've no place to go, let it blow, let it blow, let it blow.

Wednesday 16th December saw Kalkan wake up to grey skies, wind, rain and hailstones.  Pretty miserable in fact.

And if you want your morning cup of tea, the kettle won't work as the electric is off across Kalkan, and has been for most of the night.  (Thank goodness for the LPG hob).

The photos below are not the best we have ever published, but they show the difference between Kalkan at night, with and without electricity.  You can also see the size of some of the hailstones that came down this morning.

The weather forecast said it would not be pleasant today - so much so in fact, that local schools have closed.  And crossings from Kaş to Meis were cancelled today due to adverse weather conditions.

And if you are wondering how the camera is still working, and how this report has been typed on a computer, it's all down to battery back up.

Below: What Kalkan normally looks like with electric, from the webcam.
