AslanKalkan Turkish Local News is deliberately low key on the emotive subject of street animals.  It appears to be a subject that can polarise opinions.

We are happy to report the work of KAPSA, as this is legitimate local news, but we try to avoid getting drawn into the ongoing debates.

But whatever your view is on street animals, nothing can excuse animal cruelty.  So we have no hesitation whatsoever in utterly condemning the individual who poured extremely hot oil on the head of this street dog, Aslan.  And it's not the first time he has suffered this kind of treatment.

See the photo below, which was taken after treatment by a vet.

Not that it makes any difference, but Aslan is only a puppy, and he has not got an ounce of aggression in him.  We met him the other day and he is as soft as they come.

So what kind of gratification can someone get from carrying out such a wicked act?

We would hope that anyone with an ounce of decency and compassion, will denounce such cruelty.

KTLN will not go as far as naming and shaming the person who did this, but we reckon that their identity will probably become known around Kalkan in time.

Below: Aslan, following the intervention of KAPSA, and having received treatment for his burns.
