A day in the life is great to get to know our Kalkan neighbours and there is so much more. Mainly for me it's the Ten Seond Turkish - you've made it easy for us, so THANK YOU.

Indigo Beach ClubA long time ago in a galaxy far far away someone invented the cinema - it may have been Pearl and Dean, we're not sure.

Anyway it's taken a while to reach us here in Kalkan but we are about to discover the joy of moving images with a new pop-up "silver screen" in an amazing location down at Indigo Beach Club.

If you're fanatical about film and fanatical about Kalkan it's a perfect combination.

Coming soon to a beach club near you, will be a number of feature length films.  Below we explain how it all works and tell you about the first film which will be screened next week.

How it works
Films will start at 21.00 unless otherwise stated.  The screen and seating are by the sea at Indigo Beach Club.

If you wish to eat at Indigo before the film please get there in good time and preferably book in advance.  You can book by telephone - call Ahmet on 0531 243 0107.

The entrance fee for each film is 20TL per person.  If you have eaten at Indigo you are able to reserve your seats for the film, otherwise there are no reservations - you just turn up.

Screenings are subject to the weather conditions and may be cancelled in the event of bad weather.

Details of upcoming films will be provided in the What's On Calendar on KTLN.

Below: The seating is arranged on the beach club terrace - a private setting.

Indigo Beach Club

The first film: Thursday 24th August 2017 - Dirty Dancing - certificate 12
The Oscar winning feel-good film from 1987 starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, set in a summer camp in the Catskill Mountains, New York.  Click here for details from IMDB

So grab your best mate and come along to the premiere.  They may not have stars on a red carpet but there will be countless stars twinkling above you.

As this is a certificate 12 film you may need to arrange a child minder.  There are no creche facilities so nobody puts baby in a corner!
