| Wolves attack sheep near Gökçeören |

ShareKalkan Turkish Local News has read reports on two Turkish language news websites, that wild dogs or wolves, have been sighted near the village of Gökçeören. The news articles on Kalkan Haber and Kalkan Times say that a number of sheep have been attacked. The original source of the story is the Kaş Gökçeören village website. Locals say that a local ban on hunting has caused the problem, and they are now keen to find a solution that will protect their livestock. The famous Lycian Way goes through Gökçeören, (which is a village that lies between Sarıbelen and Kaş), so if you are walking in the area, watch out for them. We searched online to find out how wolves behave towards humans. What we found was that wolves are generally timid around humans - they tend to avoid them. So you probably won't even see them, if you are in the area. Unprovoked wolf attacks are rare.Share |
