Share There was a serious accident at the traffic lights by the petrol station, in Kalkan recently. A car and lorry collided at the junction, just after mid-day on Friday 5th February 2010. See our earlier local news report. We understand that the lorry driver escaped with only minor injuries, however the driver of the car, Hasan Ay, was more seriously hurt, and was taken to hospital in Fethiye. We are unaware of the specific details of Hasan Ay's injuries, however it was decided that he should be taken to another hospital in Izmir, for further treatment. He is still in hospital in Izmir, over one week since the accident. We wish Hasan a speedy recovery. Geçmiş Olsun. We are informed that the traffic police have studied video camera evidence of this junction, and they will no doubt be looking at who had right of way, as they conduct their investigations. The camera is not that conspicuous, but it is definitely there, if you know where to look. We think it would make very interesting viewing if you could see the CCTV video of a day in the life of the junction.Share |
