In June 2009 local businesses in Kalkan donated several prizes, which we auctioned online to the highest bidder.

KTLN members very generously donated almost £800 (2,000TL) by bidding in this auction.  All of this went to The KTLN Trust.

The event proved so popular that we are holding another one.

The KTLN Trust
In 2009 Kalkan Turkish Local News set up The KTLN Trust, a fund based in the UK, to help good causes in Kalkan.

Last year, thanks to you, we raised over £3,000 (over 7,300TL) for Kalkan. We gave 4,430TL to the Kalkander Association and Kalkan First School. The rest is in the bank, until we can decide where the money would be best spent.  Let us know if you have any good ideas - we would rather spend it than hold on to it.

To see more details, please visit our Donations Update page.

The KTLN Online Auction 2010
On Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st March 2010, we will hold the second KTLN online auction.  The bidding will close at 9pm prompt (UK time), on Sunday night.  Those with the highest bid at this time will secure the item.

This year we have even more to tempt you, and we hope that you will take the opportunity to join us in the 'online auction room', make a few bids, and at the same time, support good causes in Kalkan.

This year, the auction items will be posted in our Classified Adverts section, and members will be able to post messages saying how much they are prepared to bid.  Classified Adverts can be found in our Main Menu.

Non-members will be able to see the items on offer, but in order to place a bid message, you need to be a member.  If you wish to join over 1,700 other Kalkan lovers, and register with KTLN, click here.  It's totally free.

We promise that KTLN will make no charges or deductions from the money you bid. Not a single penny of this money goes towards the running of the website.  If you are a successful bidder, we will contact you to let you know how to pay.

So on the weekend of Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st March, please take a look at the KTLN Classified Adverts.  If you fancy anything, why not place a bid.

We hope that you will have some fun with this online auction and find some things that you like. If you are not in Kalkan this year, you can still bid and pass on any item you get to a friend.

Whilst it is only natural to think about grabbing a bargain, we would ask you to think about where the money is going, so please be as generous as you can.
