With the football World Cup tantilisingly close, many fans will be eagerly anticipating a feast of quality sporting action.

Athletes at the pinnacle of their physical fitness, dazzling us with footballing skills, honed to perfection.

But if you can't wait until June 11th, you can come and see Kalkan's finest footballers, in a friendly international match, at 2pm on Saturday 6th March:  Turkey v Great Britain.

The venue is the Kalkan Belediye stadium.  This match will be covered by sky (of the blue and cloudless variety, we hope). 

What the players may lack in skill and flare, will be more than compensated by passion, grit and determination.  The youth of the Turkish team will be pitted against the experience of the more mature GB team.

Who will triumph?  We hope that as many of you as possible in Kalkan, will turn out to cheer on your team, and where required, rub linament into ageing, aching legs.
