It seems we may have caused some confusion.

The KTLN Online Auction 2010 takes place on the weekend of 20th & 21st March, ending at 9pm UK time on Sunday night.

However we have already started to list items in the Classified Adverts.  This spreads the work of listing the items for us, and it gives you a sneak preview of what is coming up.

It has prompted a few questions, which we are happy to answer here.

We have already had a couple of bids on items.  That's not a problem.  They will stand and are perfectly valid.  If we get any more 'pre-bids' they will also count.  It's just that we didn't think you would want to place bids over such a long period.  If you can't wait, go ahead, but if last year is anything to go by, things will hot up on Sunday 21st March, as the deadline approaches.

The second point to make is that not all items are currently listed.  We have more to come.  We are just finalising details of the donations.

Another question has been raised about the price shown in GBP against each item.  This is not a reserve price, it is simply giving you an indication of the value of the item, if you were to come to Kalkan and pay for it.  You can bid whatever you want.

Full details will be published as a local news item on this website, on Wednesday 17th March, including terms & conditions.  Below, we provide an extract of some of the points from that forthcoming article.

How can I see what people are bidding for an item?
Next to the description, you will see a Messages box.  This will display any bids made for the item.

How do I make a bid?
Firstly, you must be logged in as a registered member of KTLN, in order to make a bid.

Next to the Messages box, is a Send Messages box.  This is where you can enter your bid.  Just type in how much you wish to offer.  Your KTLN User Name will automatically be shown next to your message, so you don't need to type it.  Your bid will appear alongside any others in the Messages box.

How will I know if my bid is successful?
The KTLN team will monitor the bids, and will contact you as soon as possible if you have the highest bid, after the auction closes.

How do I pay?
The KTLN team will provide you with details of how to pay.
