Dünya GözIf you are in Kalkan at the moment, and wondering what the huge lorry is parked outside the Belediye, it is a mobile opticians.

The lorry is operated by Dünya Göz - the World Eye Centre.  It is a commercial outfit, but they do provide free treatment to people who can't afford to pay.

Today, Thursday 1st April, the unit has moved on to Kalkan First School, where the opticians will check the eyesight of the children.

And incidentally, the blood transfusion service is also in town today. 

Unfortunately, foreigners in Kalkan are not allowed to give blood, so please don't attend on the off-chance.
