Important - article updated 5th April:  A nice easy way to get all your favourite KTLN features, is to install the KTLN Toolbar.

It's free, and is fully compatible with all popular browsers, including Firefox and IE7/8.

It even provides a simple 'one click' button to play your favourite radio station.  (At KTLN HQ, it's BBC Radio 2).

The toolbar appears at the top of your browser, and includes the following:

KTLN Toolbar

  • KTLN home page button
  • Internet search box
  • Webcam button, with a drop down selection for you to choose which webcam to view
  • What's on Calendar button
  • Photo Gallery button
  • Knowledge Bank button
  • Business Directory button
  • News button, with a drop down selection of news types (including Kalkan local news)
  • Local Weather button
  • Scrolling news bar - click on the item to read the story (includes KTLN local news items)
  • Email notifier - tells you when an email arrives
  • Radio button - play your favourite online station at the click of a button (you are not limited to one favourite - you can have more)

Update - 5th April:  The KTLN webmaster (Neil), has had yet another good idea.  Why not automatically have the most popular BBC Radio stations already in the KTLN toolbar by default, so that you don't need to do anything.

So that is what he has done.  The radio button now has BBC Radio 1, 2, 3, 4, Five Live, and BBC World Service pre-programmed.  So all of these online radio stations are just a click away - no need to faff around with BBC iPlayer.

If you have already downloaded the KTLN toolbar, you may need to refresh it, to get these pre-programmed stations.

To refresh the toolbar, click on the black down arrow, next to the KTLN letters, at the left end of the toolbar.  Then click on Refresh Toolbar.

If anyone has a problem getting the toolbar to work, please contact us for assistance.
