Kalkan Turkish Local News attended the monthly Belediye meeting today.*

At the end of the formal business we asked the Mayor if mosquito spraying was going to take place, in and around Kalkan town.

We were informed that spraying had begun today, Tuesday 6th April.

The contractors have been asked to target known infestation hot spots - for example, where property owners, (or their maintenance companies), have allowed their pools to turn into a stagnant, green, breeding ground for mosquitos.

We are aware that quite a number of people have been bitten in Kalkan over recent days.

A two week blitz is underway, and the results will be monitored, to determine whether if and when further spraying is required.
