Kalkan Belediye logoKalkan Belediye has introduced a new logo, which we show below.

The new image was formally adopted at this month's Board meeting, on Tuesday 6th April.

In the background is an image of Mouse & Snake islands, in Kalkan Bay, with the sun sinking behind them.

The Board meeting collapsed in laughter, when one member pointed out that the sun actually sets in the direction of Patara, and not behind the islands.  Whilst this is of course true, the Mayor clearly thinks that a little artistic licence is appropriate.

In the foreground, a lighthouse is depicted.  There are also pink bougainvillea flowers, and two olive tree branches, both of which can be found in abundance, in and around Kalkan.

The year, 1976, reflects the year that the Kalkan Belediye was formed - when Kalkan was a large enough village to warrant its own administration.

The image will appear on the Belediye website, and will be used in any official promotion of Kalkan town.
