Flights delayedIn Turkish, yavaş yavaş (pronounced yav-ash yav-ash), means slowly, or little by little.  How appropriate.

Because if you are expecting to fly to or from the UK right now, you have ash in bucket loads, thanks to the Icelandic volcano that is erupting, which means that you are going nowhere fast.

Below, we provide a link to the National Air Traffic Services (NATS) website, which provides the very latest news on the current disruption to flights.

NATS Latest News

As we publish this article on Kalkan Turkish Local News, the latest advice is that there will be no flights in or out of UK airports until 1am (UK time), on Saturday 17th April, at the earliest.

There may be a few minor exceptions, but these do not include flights to and from Turkey.

The situation is to be reviewed at 2.30pm (UK time), today, Friday.
