Kalkan water update - Friday 23rd April PDF Print E-mail

WaterWater update: We bring you news of the water outage currently affecting Kalkan.

Residents in the Kışla, Kömürlük and Ulugöl areas were advised that there would be a cut to the water supply for a period of at least 2 weeks, starting on 17th April.

However, we are aware that some residents still have a supply flowing, so we made some equiries.

It would appear that the planned cut did not go ahead last Saturday.  The bad news is that the water will have to be cut at some stage, but unfortunately, we don't know when.  If we get to hear anything, we will tell you.

To complicate things further, many areas of Kalkan have been without water for a few days now.  This is nothing to do with the cuts mentioned above.

The Belediye informs us that work has been carried out to repair a leak on the pipes between here and Saklikent, and also that some of the water pumps have been worked on.  The good news is that all parts of Kalkan should see water return either late tonight, (Friday), or by Saturday morning.

We were warned a few weeks ago that there would be further cuts before the main tourist season, as the Belediye wanted to ensure that pumps were ready for the expected surge in demand.
