The Nur hotel is to bring live music to Kalkan on a regular basis, starting Wednesday 8th April 2009.  Whilst Kalkan has seen live music before in some restaurants and hotels, this initiative will see a number of bands making regular appearances throughout the summer season.

The type of music will include blues, pop and Turkish music.  Initially, three different bands will perform on different evenings, approximately between 8pm and midnight.

The owner of the Nur Hotel, Barış Gürses, has refurbished the hotel lounge to provide a purpose built venue, including a small stage.  The room has a new bar, is air-conditioned, and has had soundproofing work done to minimise the noise for neighbours.

These music evenings are free and open to everyone, not just those staying at the hotel.  The first music evening is planned for this Wednesday, starting at 8pm.  Mojo, a band from Kaş will be playing and there will also be a delightful Turkish couple, Serhas & Berrin, (guitar and vocals respectively), performing a variety of songs - old and new.
