| Thursday, 02 April 2009 |
Share This month will see the return of the Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey to Kalkan. The race starts in Istanbul on 12th April and ends just over 1,200 km later in Alanya on 19th April. Stage 6 of the tour, from Fethiye to Finike is on Friday 17th April and this is when the roadshow passes through Kalkan. Last year there was a real buzz of excitement as the tour entourage arrived, complete with press pack, and TV helicopter. This year will be no less colourful, so make a date in your diary to come out on to the streets and cheer them on. Several countries are taking part in this 45th annual cycling marathon, including Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Great Britain, Holland, Italy, Russia, South Africa, Spain and of course Turkey. Some stages of the race will be broadcast live on Eurosport, so if you are not in Kalkan at the time, make sure you tune in on your TV.
