Over 30 people attended, and were treated to a wonderful meal by the staff. Kalkan Mayor, Saim Karakurt attended, as did many members of the Belediye Board. The owner and manager, Mustafa Aykanat, thanked the friends of the school for their support, and local businesswoman Şemsa Özcan was on hand to translate these thanks into English.A number of people were given certificates in recognition of the work they have done to help the school.

The centre provides much needed support to people (mostly children), who suffer from various kinds of mental impairment, or learning difficulties. Kalkan Rehabilitation Centre on Gül Sokak, (Özel Kalkan Özel Eğitim Rehabilitasyon Merkezi), held an open evening, for friends of the school, on Sunday 30th May.
