I joined KTLN for the local news.  It's great to keep in touch with what is happening throughout the year in Kalkan, especialy when it is cold and wet in England, gives me something to look forward to.

Stranded carWe try to keep our road updates to once a month, however it may be worth just mentioning that currently, there is no access for cars on to the D400, from the slip road, close to the Samira Deluxe.

The car shown below, found out the hard way, literally an hour before the first layer of tar was delivered.

Below: The stranded car peeping through the gap in the stone wall.

The D400 road surface is being prepared for the asphalt top layer, and a shallow ditch has been created close to the stone wall, at the side of the road.

Below: It actually looks worse than it is - no damage is done.

Below: Rescued.  Thanks to Yılmaz from Central Rent a Car.

Whilst pedestrians and some scooter riders appear to be able to get through, we don't recommend trying it with a car, unless you have a monster 4x4 truck.

And it is also worth pointing out that the tar is wet and sticky right now, (Thursday evening), so if you are walking to or from Kızıltaş, if you don't want to ruin your shoes, you will need to walk quite a long way round.  Or better still, try to get a lift.

Below: The freshly tarred D400, where the car got stuck an hour earlier.
