The opening play, a comedy, was performed in Turkish, (as you would expect), by the Antalya Municipality Theatre Group. However, in view of the large number of English speaking people in Kalkan, there are plans to put on a play in English. A famous Turkish actor, Ahmet Gülhan, who lives in Kalkan, suggested this would be a good idea, and the director of the Antalya theatre group, Mufit Kayacan, said he would do everything possible to make this happen. He also invited people of Kalkan to the Yeşilköy Halk Tiyatrosu theatre festival, which will take place between July 9th and 12th. Share |
