In August, Kalkan Turkish Local News is to publish an article on street animals.

In the KTLN survey, undertaken in February 2010, one third of our 388* respondents were either dissatisfied or very dissatisfied about the management of street animals in Kalkan.  This was the highest negative rating of any topic voted on (equal first with local roads).  44% were satisfied or highly satisfied.

So we think it is a topic that KTLN should report on, in what we hope will be seen as a balanced way - looking at all sides of the debate.

KTLN is talking to the appropriate people in Kalkan about this, including KAPSA, the Belediye, and others who are knowledgeable in this subject.  But we would also like to hear from KTLN readers. What is your own experience?

If one third of people visiting Kalkan are not happy with this issue, is it OK to dismiss the matter as being unimportant, or should solutions be found?
