In our election update last week we said that it had been officially confirmed that the CHP candidate, Saim Karakurt was to form and lead the new local administration in Kalkan.

Strictly speaking this statement was correct in that both Kaş and Antalya courts did indeed confirm the result of the vote on Sunday 29th March, when the CHP gained 26 more votes than their nearest rival, the AKP.

However both of these confirmations have again been challenged and we are currently waiting to hear what the court in Ankara has to say.  So the hiatus continues.  We will let you know when a final and unchallengable decision has been made.
