Goldtrail Travel Ltd went into administration yesterday afternoon (Friday 16th July 2010).

This British tour operator specialised in trips to Turkey and Greece. 

It is reported that as many as 16,000 travellers may be immediately affected, with tens of thousands of summer holiday flights cancelled.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has however confirmed that customers who are abroad now will be able to get home, as flights are protected by the ATOL scheme.

The majority of flights home from Turkey will go ahead as planned, however holidaymakers in Greece have been told to expect some changes to their flights.

Apart from these repatriation flights, there will be no more outbound Goldtrail flights.
