No, we are not talking about a Kalkan holiday romance, but rather the price cutting rivalry between taxi drivers and the Kalkan Tourism Transport (KTT) business, on certain routes.

They have obviously decided that lowering fares to Kaputaş, Patara and Saklikent was not in the interests of either of them, so it appears that prices have reverted back to normal.

Taxi fares have also reverted to the old standard tariff.  For local journeys around town, (based upon the cost per 200 metres), and also for destinations outside Kalkan, prices are provided in the KTLN Knowledge Bank: Taxis.

If your taxi journey is local, the KTLN article enables you to calculate roughly what your journey should cost - in peak and off-peak times.  We would advise you to work this out in advance, (if you can), so you can tell whether you have been charged correctly.

If your taxi journey is out of town, always agree the price before you make your journey.
