I like the recipes, the exchange rates, information about local people, events and anything to do with travelling to Turkey is important. And of course, the webcams.

Aqua Park Hotel in KaşKTLN would like to let you know about an important meeting coming up in Kaş, and invite you to come along.

The meeting will be addressed by a senior Turkish politician, and will discuss the challenges faced by foreigners, of all nationalities, who either reside or own property in this region.

The main goal of this meeting is to provide the Turkish central government representative with an overall view of these challenges, and hopefully to receive information about how they can be overcome.

The meeting will be held on Saturday 25th September 2010, between 4pm and 6pm, at the Aqua Park Hotel on the Kaş Yarımada.

There is adequate parking either within or close to the Aqua Park Hotel grounds. A bus transfer from Kalkan to the Aqua Park Hotel is being arranged. Details will be advised shortly on KTLN.

The speaker is Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Antalya Deputy, and Vice Chairman of the AK Party, in charge of Foreign affairs, and Chairman of the Turkish Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.  He is a high ranking official within the Turkish Government and it is an honour that he taking the time to speak to us.

The Agenda
  1. Introductory speech by Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu
  2. Discussion about the increasing sewage pollution at sea since 2009
  3. The Kaş Marina and other infrastructure challenges
  4. Language difficulties and the lack of timely information channels from T.C. Authorities

The speaker has already been briefed about certain concerns, including things such as changes (or not) to the visa regulations, and the introduction of SGK Universal Health Insurance.

It is expected that many local dignitaries from Kalkan and Kaş will attend.  This meeting presents an opportunity to ask relevant questions related to the agenda points and to find out important information.

If you would like to attend, the organisers would like to know so that they can make appropriate arrangements.

Please contact KTLN if you wish to attend, and we will pass the numbers to the organisers.  Please tell us if you will make your own way there, or whether you would prefer to use the bus transfer from Kalkan bus station.

This meeting has been arranged by Kaş residents Ünal Yazgan, Paolo Guglielmi and Colin Andrews.
