NYE KalkanFurther to our What's Open Out of Season article, here is a reminder of what is going to be open over the festive week ahead - looking mostly at places to eat and drink and highlighting the New Year's Eve parties we are aware of in Kalkan.

Please note that some places may already be close to being fully booked for New Year's Eve - please check before you go.

Before we dive in to the main course, for starters let us remind you which hotels are open, in case you need a place to stay.  They are:

Nur Hotel; Patara Prince Hotel; Pirat Hotel, The Old Town Hotel, White House and Zinbad Hotel.

End of seasonThis article is updated from time to time.  As we say goodbye to the main tourist season, many people are interested to know what remains open in Kalkan over the autumn and winter months.

We have heard it said that Kalkan all but closes down for the winter, however this is not true.  Some elements do shut down of course, but quite a few businesses are staying open.

As you will see below, about a quarter of places to eat and drink in Kalkan will remain open at least some of the time this winter.*

Kalkan harbour side fire

Five popular harbour side restaurants were destroyed in the early hours of Wednesday 3rd December 2014, following a devastating fire: they are Kleo Bar, Seaport restaurant, Mussakka restaurant, Deniz restaurant and Yakamoz (Jimmy's) restaurant.

Below we publish dramatic photographs that were taken shortly after 09.00, showing the aftermath of the fire.
