The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

There are two weekly English-speaking meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous in Kalkan and another two in Fethiye; there are Turkish-speaking meetings in Kaş and Fethiye. At each meeting there is a core of members with long-term sobriety who have years of experience helping others to recover from their alcoholism. They are people who have survived the horrors of their own problem drinking and who now live happy normal lives in total abstinence from alcohol with absolutely no desire to drink.

If you think you have a problem with alcohol and would like to stop drinking, A.A. can help you. If you are the partner of a problem drinker you are welcome to visit any of the English-speaking meetings where you will be told where you can get help and friendly advice from similar people with past experience.
