KTLN on Facebook

Your Comments

As an owner of a property in Kalkan, this site seemed an excellent way of keeping in touch, especially as for much of the year I am not able to be out there.

The KTLN Survey - only 1 week left

The KTLN SurveyFollowing discussions with Kalkan Belediye, we have decided to ask if you will take part in the Kalkan Turkish Local News survey.

It's aimed at people who visit Kalkan, or who have made Kalkan their home.

Why are you doing this?
The purpose of this survey is to gather some basic information about the people who visit or live in Kalkan.

Summarised data will be shared with you, our KTLN readers, and also, importantly, with the Kalkan Belediye, who are keen to find out more about the people who visit the town.

The Belediye has told us that they would find this information helpful for general administration and planning purposes, and they have reviewed and approved the questions in our survey.

We think it is encouraging that they are interested to know what you think.

What will happen as a result of this survey?
Let us be honest about this.  This survey is simply a means of gathering information that we think will be both interesting to our readership, and useful to the Belediye.

We wish to make it clear that none of the summary findings will be used to 'demand' things from the Belediye or others, on behalf of those who participate.  This is purely an exercise in informing people: it is not a mechanism for promoting change overnight.

What about my privacy?
We guarantee your personal privacy.  Individual answers will not be shared with anyone outside the KTLN admin team.

And nobody will be contacting you to sell you anything!  You have our word on that.

You will note that in our survey we have avoided a number of personal questions, such as those relating to income, marital status, religion, race, gender etc. Further, no individual Kalkan businesses will be identified or mentioned in the published analysis.

Why do it now?
Kalkan Turkish Local News now has a membership of over 1,600 - all of whom have joined within the last 10 months or so, and we assume that the majority of them have an interest in Kalkan.

We believe that now, with this level of potential sample, we have a unique opportunity to provide some value adding analysis that people will find interesting and useful.

When does the survey take place?
On Monday 25th January, we emailed all our members with details of how to take part.

If you are a member, and you have not received the email, please check to see if our email has gone into your spam folder.

Alternatively, here is a direct link to the survey, accessible to registered members only.

Members have until 11pm (UK time) on Sunday 14th February 2010 to complete the online survey.

How long will it take to complete?
If you would like to take part, the survey should take no more than 15 to 20 minutes of your time.  It's all done online, and is very easy to complete.

Who can take part?
The survey is designed for people who have visited Kalkan, or live there.  Any KTLN member can take part, however we are really looking for just one response per household.

Feel free to mention this to people who may not already be members of KTLN, if you feel that their participation would be useful.  They will have to sign up as members to take part.

We regret that we can only provide the questions in English, but Turkish members are welcome to take part.

Of course, this is entirely voluntary, however if you love Kalkan as much as we do, we hope you will give it a go.

When will we see the results?
The resulting analysis will be published in February 2010.

Win a bottle of wine
If you are still wavering, we are not averse to offering a little something to tempt you further. All participants are invited to join in a little competition, as a bit of fun. When completing the survey you will have an option to complete this sentence: "I love Kalkan because.....".

The people who submit the five best sentences, as judged by KTLN, will each receive a bottle of Turkish wine, (of their choice), up to a value of 20TL. This is just a bit of fun, and our decision is final.

Any questions?
If your question is not answered here, please get in touch with Kalkan Turkish Local News, by using the Contact Us tab at the top of our website home page, and we will do our best to address your question.
