We are looking at the webcams everyday, and also checking the website for things to do and see. We are very very pleased to have found this site. Keep up the good work.
A new Ultra Marathon route has been established on the popular Lycian Way - the first Ultra Marathon route in Turkey.
Between the 9th and 17th October, runners will make their way along approximately 250 km (156 miles) of the Lycian Way - that's about half of the overall length. It is roughly 28km or 17 miles per day.
The precise route has not yet been published, so we can't say how close to Kalkan they will come.
The organising committee will have checkpoints every 10 km or so, with water and basic medical facilities.
Participants will have to carry their own supplies, although it is understood that the organisers will provide tents for accommodation.
As someone who enjoys walking on the Lycian Way, I can see the attraction of this route - it is truly spectacular. But as for running it? Count me out.
