A day in the life is great to get to know our Kalkan neighbours and there is so much more. Mainly for me it's the Ten Seond Turkish - you've made it easy for us, so THANK YOU.

Tekasya tomatoesOne of the big plus points of living in Kalkan, is the quality of the fruit and vegetables available in local markets.

It's fresh, it's tasty, and if you know where to look it's cheap.  And what makes it even more special, is that because you don't get certain items all year round, you really look forward to the times when they are available, and savour them even more.

Seasoned shoppers will know what you can buy, at different times of the year, but wouldn't it be handy to have a seasonal guide to Turkish fruit and vegetables?

We think it would.  So here is a link to a great Turkish website we found.  It's in English, and it provides seasonal availability for the most common fruit & veg items, in a simple chart.

Tekasya Product Seasons

Tekasya is Turkey's third largest exporter of fresh fruit and vegetables.  They have a packing factory in Ova, just a short drive from Kalkan - see photo below.
